The process design for LED street heatsinks typically involves three key steps:

1. Outline Design: Design the outline of the LED street heatsink based on actual needs and relevant constraints.

2. Optimization: Optimize the thickness, shape, spacing, and substrate thickness of the heatsink fins according to relevant heat dissipation design criteria.

For natural heat dissipation, it’s essential to consider that the temperature boundary layer is thicker during natural cooling. If the space between the heatsink fins is too small, the thermal boundaries of adjacent fins can overlap, affecting surface convection. Therefore, for naturally cooled heatsinks, the fin spacing should generally be greater than 12mm. If the fin height is less than 10mm, the spacing should be at least 1.2 times the fin height.

Due to the weaker heat transfer capacity of naturally cooled heatsinks, adding ripples to the fin surface has minimal impact on natural convection. Thus, the fin surfaces do not need excessive ripples. Instead, a phosphating treatment can be applied for anti-corrosion, increasing the surface's radiation coefficient to enhance heat transfer.

It’s also important to note that natural convection takes a relatively long time to reach thermal equilibrium. Therefore, the substrate and fins of the heatsink should be thick enough to withstand the impact of transient heat loads.

   - Disadvantages: The forging process has limitations, preventing the production of complex products, making it less suitable for a market with rapidly changing demands.

2. Aluminum alloy profiles for LED heatsinks:

   - Material:Typically, A6063 aluminum is used, often in a sunflower shape.

   - Advantages: LED heatsink aluminum profiles have good heat dissipation and are easy to surface treat, such as through anodizing. The mold production cycle is short, usually 10 to 15 days, and the mold cost is low.

   -Disadvantages: These profiles require additional machining in the later stages, and the output of finished products is not as high as with cold forging.
